When I first walked past The Whistler Tea House, I had to stop and take a look. Large, open windows showcase the beautiful interiors – the mostly white room is accented by a stunning cherry blossom accent wall, warm wood floors, and rustic tables and stools all beckoned to me. Inside, it was even more lovely. The fragrance of different teas,  a stack of delicious cookies in beautiful glass jars, and a selection of tea cups to choose from.

The place is tea heaven. It’s one of those places that you might dub “adult only”, saving it for those moments without the kids – but seconds later the sound of hilarious laughter bubbled through the air and I was brought back to reality. The Whistler Tea House is more than child-friendly, it even hosts a weekly mom-and-kid tea time!

Yulia opened The Whistler Tea House especially for locals to enjoy with their families. Being a local Whistler-ite, she sought community and friendship within Whistler, and decided to give the resort town what it was missing. The inspired decor is the perfect backdrop to meet with friends and make new ones.

Being a mom of two girls herself, Yulia knew firsthand how difficult it can be to make new friendships, and maintain them! So every Wednesday, she hosts a Mom’s Tea Time at The Whistler Tea House for mommy’s and their children to enjoy. It feels so warm and inviting, like an impromptu gathering at a friend’s house – it’s so full of joy and laughter!

The weekly Mom’s Time has quickly become a tradition for many Whistler moms – each Wednesday they come back, and each week more and more new faces arrive! You can’t help but relish in the coziness of it all! The owner, Yulia, is also a photographer, and started taking pictures during Mom’s Time. All the mom’s are so grateful to have photos of themselves with their children – how often does that happen? Usually the mom’s are the ones taking the pictures!

The Whistler Tea House specializes in loose leaf teas. Enjoy a delicious tea inside, or purchase loose leaf to go. Try a delicious locally-made biscotti or cookie to go with your tea – the matcha tea is amazing!

Visit The Whistler Tea House, open from 10am – 6pm, located at 122-4368, Main Street, Whistler BC (Market Place, next to IGA). And follow The Whistler Tea House on Facebook and Instagram for upcoming events and beautiful photography by the owner, Yulia. Mom’s Time is Wednesdays at 2:30 pm. All photos in this post were taken by Yulia Gladysheva and used with her permission.
