The beauty and simplicity found in a classic French rag doll makes me smile, and Vic&Vie Dolls are no exception. Each doll has its’ own personality, style, and timeless charm.
Vic&Vie creates unique, handcrafted dolls inspired by the classic French rag doll. All the dolls are made with natural fabrics, vintage trims, wool, and lots of love!
Each Vic&Vie piece is hand-made on Salt Spring Island, BC by Randee Brinks, a mom of three! She creates the dolls with a timeless elegance, a hint of vintage glamour, and a certain je ne sais quoi. Her collection changes seasonally, influenced by fashion and beautiful textiles, and she also makes custom creations.
My daughter is not a girly-girl (see the dirt embedded on her shorts!) – while she might adore dressing up and wearing sparkly shoes, she loves running wild in the forest and playing with trucks in the mud, so it was no surprise that she chose Harlow as her favourite doll.
Harlow, now renamed Mariel, wears a lovely satin skirt, lace stockings, and a wool cowl-neck sweater, but it’s the bandit mask that makes her fun to play with. Without the mask she’s a nice girl, with the mask she becomes a super spy or the villain, depending on the day! Her hand-embroidered face has twinkling, star-shaped eyes and a heart-shaped mouth.
Things I Love
- The quality of the doll is impeccable, even after a few tug-o-wars between my two kids, the doll is still in perfect shape
- The size of the doll is large, measuring about 21″ tall
- The clothes are completely removable, and if you’re talented (like grandma!) you can knit, crochet, or sew new clothes for your doll
- Each doll is unique, handmade, and created using vintage fabrics, repurposed lace and salvaged fabrics
