A Little Help with Spring Cleaning Giveaway

Spring in the BC Mountains

Spring is bursting into the West Coast and I’m inviting it in with arms wide open! On days that I get to work from home, I’m greeted with these beautiful views outside my windows. If you could believe it, most of the day was grey and rainy, then sometime after lunch the skies parted and in came the glorious, warm sun!

The beautiful weather outdoors serves as a great reminder to deep clean my house… What?… That sun beaming in? It’s beaming in through dusty windows, finger-print covered windows. Suddenly, I’m aware that the walls and ceiling are covered in a fine layer of dust, which is gross, by the way. So before I run out to enjoy the weather, I try to tackle some deep cleaning in the house.

We keep our home pretty minimal, so there isn’t too much dusting to do. But inside there are high ledges to dust, a thorough mopping is always great, and cleaning out the bathroom drawers is a chore that I’m really starting to hate!

Spring in the BC Mountains

Spring in the BC Mountains

Here’s some tips for spring cleaning your home sweet home – and be sure to enter the giveaway to win a Spring Cleaning Prize Pack valued at $70!

#1: Everyone Pitches In!

In my house, everyone pitches in! The nine-year old likes to vacuum and take the garbage out, while the almost-three-year old grabs a duster and goes to town. He also likes scrubbing the shower floor, so that’s a bonus! When everyone helps out, it makes it more fun and makes everyone respect the process and keep your home cleaner for longer!

#2: Take Your Time

There’s no need to rush the process! Spread it out over a few days, or tackle big projects on weekends. Book in “family cleaning time” and give everyone a job to do – whether it’s yard work, cleaning out the pantry, or getting rid of old clothing.

#3 Clean Inside AND Out

Many times we proudly clean the inside of our homes, and it’s sparkling from floor to ceiling – but we forget the outside! Clean the windows, frames, decks, and even the exterior siding or brick on your home to keep it looking fresh and new!

#4: Have Fun!

Turn on the radio, lay out a few snacks and don’t take it too seriously! Celebrate the season of greener grasses and sunny weathers (without the sweat and sunburns).

Your family’s living space deserves only the best – after all, where else can you unwind and call it your very own home sweet home?
