Put Custom-Made Vans Footwear on your Wish List!

When I was nine, I fancied myself a bit of a fashion designer. I was the owner of a very prestigious Barbie sketch pad (something similar to this!), complete with fabric textures and stickers, and each day I would create the most beautiful outfits, dresses, and shoes! Almost everything I designed was a shade of pink or purple, except for the accessories, which were often pearls, diamonds, or fur.

Well, I grew up and realized that I didn’t have quite the knack for sewing and creating fashions as I originally thought. But when I recently discovered that Vans sold Custom-Made Shoes – I was super excited. Using their Custom Shoe Creator, you can choose from a wide variety of classic Vans footwear, and customize your shoes just the way you like it! Just like Pinterest, the Vans Custom-Made Shoes website is a time warp-hole. You can spend hours designing different shoes, and saving the designs to your account!

When I introduced my daughter to the Vans Custom-Made Shoe Store, she spent days creating shoe designs. The custom shoe creator is very simple to use. After choosing a shoe to customize, you go through each available customizable section and choose fabric patterns or colours of your choices. You can change anything you like at any time. The website is fast and never gave us any problems. You can take a look at your shoe from every angle to check out your custom design.

Never to be mistaken for being too-girly, my daughter chose a cosmic and lightning-patterned fabric with bright neon detailing and checkered laces. Here is her finished custom Vans Chukka Low Boys shoe design:

They’re pretty funky and eye-catching! I love that the Vans Custom Shoe Maker can bring out the creativity in a child. My daughter made these shoes on her own, and pored over every single detail to make sure it was just right before sending the design off to be made.

The shoes were even cooler in person! The custom-made Vans came in a collectible fabric bag, and arrived with a set of extra laces in white. The design of the shoes was exactly how she ordered them – cosmic space in the front, purple lightning bolts on the sides, neon yellow checkered on the back, and some purple and neon yellow detailing. And don’t forget the gold eyelets. She was very adamant about the gold eyelets.

Creating your own custom shoe is an awesome experience, and I think any tween would love the opportunity to design their very own unique footwear. My daughter is thrilled with the shoes, a classic Vans style, the Chukka Low Boys, designed just the way she wanted them. This is a perfect present for anyone who is hard to shop for, or has that bit of fashionable flair and loves a unique, made just-for-them gift.

Disclosure: The awesome team at Vans provided us with a pair of Custom-Made Footwear for review, however I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are completely my own, and I really think these are the coolest shoes ever.

My daughter loves VANS. How cool is it that you can create a custom shoe? Results in practical shoe that may be actually worn. Thanks for the post

These are so fun! I’m going to check these out for my hubby. He loves fun shoes (though they sometimes look funny on him because he has huge feet–but if it makes him happy, why not?).

Cool beans! Would make a great gift (letting the person design shoes themselves…I wouldn’t want the pressure of designing shoes for someone, especially a teenager!)
