Spring is finally here, and I’m teaming up with Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus to share five travel hacks that you’ll love, along with a great giveaway offer. One lucky winner will take home a Travel Pack from Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus valued at $150 (including a $50 Target gift card!)
Five Travel Hacks You’ll Love
1. Roll; Don’t Fold
As you pack, roll your clothes instead of folding them. You’ll be able to fit up to two times the amount of clothing by rolling them as you would by folding them.
2. Pack your “Iron”
And by iron, we mean Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus. The 3 oz travel size meets airline standards. Slip it into your carry-on bag, and with a simple spray, you’ll be wrinkle free all trip long. (It’s also a great fabric refresher if you have to wear your clothes more than once on vacation.) Click here to read more and grab a coupon.
3. Bring an Empty Water Bottle
After you get through security, several airports have filtered water stands to fill your bottle. You’ll also find that most airport cafes will gladly fill your water bottle as well. View Post

The Cornucopia Food & Wine Festival came and went in a flurry of wine glasses, artisan cheeses, tapas-style plates, and indulgent desserts. Throughout the eleven delicious festivals days, the new workshop series at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler was the most buzz-worthy event, by far. I was lucky enough to get a coveted spot at The Art of Festival Fondues, one of my favourite and indulgent holiday feasts.
The ‘Lunch & Learn’ featured Chef de Cuisine, Kreg Graham, cooking up a wine-paired, three course menu. It was held at the luxuriously warm Grill Room at The Faimont Chateau Whistler.
Our first course consisted of two mouthwatering cheese fondues, the Applewood Smoked Cheddar and Bacon Fondue, as well as a Dried Cranberry, Pistachio and Brie Fondue. The pots were served with an array of sausages, charcuterie, artisan breads, vegetables, and pickles. While each fondue was equally as delicious as the other, the indulgent combination of Bacon-Wrapped Pears in the cheddar fondue was to die for.
Different wine pairings were chosen for each course, because what’s a wine festival without wine, am I right? Our wine glasses were always full and it added a definite merriment to the occasion. Large, plump scallops, shrimp, and beef were served up for our second course. Again, two fondue pots, one with oil and one with broth, were there for cooking our selected protein in. A variety of sauces were arranged on our plates, including a lovely mustard sauce and a spicy yogurt-curry sauce. View Post
It was one fabulous party at Disney On Ice ‘Let’s Celebrate!’ in Vancouver – Mickey, Minnie, and the whole gang partied it up with an all-star Disney line-up! The quality of the ice skating was outstanding, with lots of artistry and acrobatics throughout the performance, and the show really catered to the kids by having the characters interact with them from beginning to end.
My family and I loved watching the show, and both my two-year old and eight-year old found it very entertaining. While my two-year old sat there in awe with his mouth agape, clapping occasionally and pointing out Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, my eight-year old exclaimed in wonder at the incredible set changes, pointing out her favourite characters, and getting really into the storyline. The show starts with a birthday party, but after discovering it wasn’t anyone’s actual birthday, it quickly turned into a very happy ‘un-birthday’ party – complete with an ice-skating version of musical chairs!
Many of Disney’s favourite characters pop up throughout the show: Pinnochio shows up during the birthday party, the scariest Disney villains party it up on Halloween, we see Mulan, Aladdin & Jasmine, Mowgli, the Mad Hatter, Lilo & Stitch, Princess Tiana and all the classic princesses and their princes ice skate to their love songs. There’s even a great rendition of the famous scene from Fantasia with Mickey Mouse, the Sorcerer, and the brooms. View Post
Cornucopia Whistler is a celebration of food and wine, and it starts tomorrow, November 6th, 2014 through to November 16th, 2014. These 10 festival days include food and drink events, seminars, and dinner parties hosted by famous chefs at private estates in Whistler.
The Cornucopia schedule is jam-packed with food, beer, and wine events.
